IIMB UG Revision Strategy 2026
Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation get the largest share of the IIMB UG Revision Strategy 2026, because 90 of the 180 marks in the IIM Bangalore Undergraduate Admissions Test come from it. The test is on Sunday, November 15, 2026, and it has 60 questions in 135 minutes. You cover every topic once by Day 12. The weekends after that are for full-length mocks, and you review each one fully that day. In the last four days, you only revise.
How to Revise for IIMB UG in the Last 20 Days?
Revising for IIMB UG in the last 20 days means twelve days on topics, four on mocks and the weak areas they expose, and the last four on formulas and notes. The count begins on Monday, October 26, 2026. Day 20 lands on Saturday, November 14, one day ahead of the test.
Days | What You Revise |
Days 1-12 | Each topic of the three sections once, from your own notes, with a timed set after it |
Days 13-16 | Mocks on Days 13 and 14, each reviewed that day, then weak topics from both |
Days 17-20 | The formula sheet, error-log questions and the grammar list, with Day 20 left light |
- From Day 17, Quant is revised from one page of formulas, and the arithmetic, algebra and geometry ones on it can be taken from the IIMB UG Formulas PDF.
- An error log runs alongside the plan from the first day, in a plain notebook. Every question you got wrong or skipped is entered with its topic and one of three reasons, a concept gap, a careless slip or a shortage of time. The weak topics for Days 15 and 16 are picked from it.
- Notes stay shut at the start of each topic. Whatever formulas, rules and methods you still remember get written down first, and the notes are opened afterwards to add what slipped.
IIMB UG 2026 Section-Wise Revision Strategy
Calculation, reasoning and reading make up the paper, and the IIMB UG 2026 section-wise revision strategy keeps a separate daily task for each of the three sections.
Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation
IIMB's sample paper opens the Quant section with a graph set, so one timed Data Interpretation set goes into each topic-revision day. Determinants, vectors, integration and differentiation are Class 12 chapters, since the official mathematics syllabus runs up to Class XII. They get their own revision days and a place on the formula sheet.
Logical Reasoning
In Logical Reasoning, IIMB's sample papers have an arrangement puzzle, a ranking puzzle and blood-relation, letter-pattern and statement-and-reason questions. The two puzzles are solved again from your error log, with a small table of the clues drawn each time. The other three types go into one short mixed set on each topic-revision day.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Verbal in IIMB's sample paper begins with a reading passage that carries three questions. An odd-sentence-out question and a paragraph jumble sit further down. On topic-revision days, read one passage and, for each answer, find the line in the text that backs it. Mock mistakes in grammar, in subject-verb agreement and tenses, for instance, go on a short list for the final week.
Most Important Topics to Revise for IIMB UG 2026
The most important topics to revise for IIMB UG 2026 sit in all three sections, but Quant counts for twice as much as either of the others, with 90 of the 180 marks against 45 each.
Topic Area | Topics to Revise |
Quant: Arithmetic and Data Interpretation | Number system, averages, percentages, interest, profit and loss, ratio, mixtures, speed and distance, work, pipes and cisterns, table and graph sets |
Quant: Algebra | Algebraic formulae, quadratic equations, permutations, combinations, probability |
Quant: Geometry and Mensuration | Lines, angles and triangles, polygons, circles, mensuration |
Quant: Higher Mathematics | Determinants, vectors, integration, differentiation |
Logical Reasoning: Core Reasoning Fundamentals | Series, age, blood relations, directions, clocks and calendars, Venn diagrams, analogy, coding-decoding |
Logical Reasoning: Arrangement and Puzzles | Arrangement sets, cubes |
Logical Reasoning: Statement-Based Reasoning | Deduction, inference, assumptions and conclusions, assertions and reasons, syllogisms |
Verbal: Reading Comprehension | Passages with inference-based questions |
Verbal: Grammar | Noun and pronoun errors, subject-verb agreement, prepositions and conjunctions, tenses, modifiers, parallelism |
Verbal: Vocabulary and Verbal Reasoning | Etymology and roots, idioms and phrases, synonyms and antonyms, analogies, foreign words and phrases, syllogisms, logical consistency, deductive reasoning |
IIMB's own sample questions for Quant include a graph set, probability, alloys, HCF and LCM and compound growth. Most of these are Arithmetic and Data Interpretation topics, so these two areas come first in Quant revision.

How Many IIMB UG Mock Tests Should You Take Before the Exam?
Before the IIMB UG exam, atleast take three full-length mock tests and two Quant sectional tests in the last 20 days. IIM Bangalore has announced an official mock for applicants, and the rest of your tests are drawn from IIMB UG Mock Tests.
Test | Day | What You Revise Afterwards |
Full-length mock | Day 6 | Wrong answers go into the error log, with the minutes spent on each section |
Quant sectional test | Day 7 | Higher Mathematics and Data Interpretation questions you got wrong |
Full-length mock | Day 13 | Topics that cost marks in this mock and on Day 6 |
Full-length mock | Day 14 | It's wrong answers that decide the weak topics for Days 15 and 16 |
The sectional test is timed and covers only Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation, the section with 30 of the paper's 60 questions. The last full-length mock is on Day 14, one week before the test.
IIMB UG 2026 Last 7 Days Revision Plan
The IIMB UG 2026 last 7 days revision plan runs from the final full-length mock on Day 14 to Day 20, and each of those days goes back over topics you already know. You can also do IIMB UG previous-year papers to understand the exam pattern.
Day | What You Revise |
Day 14 | Last full-length mock in one sitting, then review it that evening |
Day 15 | Quant weak topics from the error log, with Higher Mathematics and Data Interpretation first |
Day 16 | Logical Reasoning and Verbal weak topics from the error log |
Day 17 | Formula sheet for all four Quant areas, then one Data Interpretation set |
Day 18 | One arrangement puzzle, then blood relations, directions and coding-decoding |
Day 19 | One passage with its questions, then the grammar list and one paragraph jumble |
Day 20 | Formula sheet and error log once more, briefly, then the day off |
Day 14's mock is worth sitting exactly like the actual test, 60 questions in 135 minutes. Within those minutes, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation have 1 hour allotted to them, Logical Reasoning 45 minutes and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension 30 minutes.
