Can anyone suggest whether should I skip Modern maths for my preparation? I can solve the basic/Level 1 questions however I am unable to answer any question at CAT level

i think it is better to not leave any things because modern maths is not important in terms of quant but for the lidr section you really need good sense of numbers and shortcuts for those ap gp and p&c for cases in lidr you will always feel that you are missing on something

You still have a lot of time. Try to cover the important topics first(Arithmetic and Algebra), then move on to the less important topics. I'd suggest you not to skip it entirely though. At least be familiar with the basics. If we are to learn anything from CAT 23, quants is going to be very unpredictable.

yes brother of course you can skip modern maths for cat prep. I am also not good in maths, so being a non engineer, I have skipped a lot of things in maths, which I found very difficult. My advice for you is don't put a lot of pressure on yourself, just be relax.

Starting your preparation with a negative attitude won't help you, my friend. Don't pay attention to any random calculations shared in messages. The truth is, sometimes a simple-looking arithmetic question can be extremely difficult, while a modern maths or any other question could be a piece of cake. Are you willing to give up on three marks from now? Although modern maths may not be frequently asked as per past trends, you cannot predict the future based on past patterns. Moreover, if you are appearing for XAT, the exam is well-balanced and has a good number of questions and concepts of modern maths and even in SNAP, questions on modern maths are asked. Therefore, think of the long term and do not listen to people who make calculations based on assumptions. You will see many people giving "GYAN" without any base to it.

cause in cat most of the quants question are from arithematic and algebra, so in your prepration mostly focus on arithematic and algebra, and after that you can focus on geometry, 12-15 questions in exam will be from arithematic and algebra and 3-4 from geometry, so focus on these 3
