Two numbers are 40% and 50% lesser than a third number. By how much percent is the second number to be enhanced to make it equal to the first number?
Let third number = $$100x$$
First number is 40% less than $$100x$$ and second number is 50% less than $$100x$$
=> First number = $$60x$$ and Second number = $$50x$$
To make second number equal to first number, it should be enhanced by = $$60x - 50x = 10x$$
=> Required % = $$\frac{10x}{50x} \times 100 = 10 \times 2 = 20 \%$$
=> Ans - (B)
