Let theĀ number of male covid positive patients be '$$9x$$' and female covid positive patients beĀ $$5x$$
The difference between number of male and female covid positive patients = 72
$$9x-5x=72$$
$$4x=72$$
$$x=18$$
Hence the total number of covid positive patients =Ā $$9x+5x=14x=14\times\ 18=252$$
