Study the following information to answer these questions.
An organization consists of 1500 employees. The ratio of males to females is 17 : 13. All the employees work at five different floors named F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5. 28% of females are at floor F1. 18% of the males work at floor F2. One-fifth of the males work at floor-F5. The ratio of females to males at floor F2 is 2 : 3. And 25% of the total numbers of employees are at floor F3. Females working at floor F5 are 60% of the males working at the same floor. 18% of the females are at floor F4, The remaining females are at floor F3. 16% of the males work at floor F1 and the remaining males are working at floor F4
Number of males working at floor F4, form what percent of the number of females working the same floor?
It is given that there are 1500 employees.
The ratio of males to females is 17:13, which means the number of males = (17/30)*1500 = 850 and the number of females = 650.
Let us make a table which has floor-wise distribution of males and females.
28% of females are at floor F1 = 28% of 650 = 182
18% of the males work at floor F2 = 18% of 850 = 153
One-fifth of the males work at floor F5 = 0.2*850 = 170
The ratio of females to males at floor F2 is 2 : 3, we know that males at F2 = 153
So, females at F2 = 153*(2/3) = 102
25% of the total number of employees are on floor F3 = 1500*0.25 = 375
Let us fill the details in the table.
Females working at floor F5 are 60% of the males working at the same floor.
We know that males working at F5 = 170,
So, females working at F5 = 60% of 170 = 102
18% of the females are at floor F4 = 18% of 650 = 117
The remaining females are at floor F3.
16% of the males work at floor F1 = 16% of 850 = 136
The remaining males are working at floor F4.
Let us again fill the table using above clues.
We know there are 650 females from F1 to F5.
Hence, 182+102+F3+117+102 = 650
503+F3 = 650
F3 = 650-503 =147
Also, we know the total number of employees in the building = 1500
Hence, 318+255+375+F4+272 = 1500
1220+F4 = 1500
F4 = 1500-1220 = 280
Thus, number of males at F3 = 375-147 = 228
The number of males at F4 = 280-117 = 163
Number of males working at floor F4, form what percent of the number of females working the same floor.
Females at F4 = 117
Males at F4 = 163
percent of the number of females = (163/117)*100 = 139.32%
