Two numbers are 35% and 40% lesser than a third number. By how much percent is the second number to be enhanced to make it equal to the first number?
Let third number = $$100x$$
First number is 35% less than $$100x$$ and second number is 40% less than $$100x$$
=> First number = $$65x$$ and Second number = $$60x$$
To make second number equal to first number, it should be enhanced by = $$65x - 60x = 5x$$
=> Required % = $$\frac{5x}{60x} \times 100 = \frac{100}{12} = 8.33 \%$$
