Question 80

Three partners A, B and C share profit such that three times the share of A is equal to two times the share of B and equal to 12 times the share of C. What is the ratio of the profits of A, B and C respectively

Solution

Let shares of A,B and C be $$a,b$$ and $$c$$ respectively.

According to ques, => $$3a=2b=12c=k$$

=> $$a=\frac{k}{3}$$ , $$b=\frac{k}{2}$$ , $$c=\frac{k}{12}$$

=> $$a:b:c=\frac{k}{3}:\frac{k}{2}:\frac{k}{12}$$

= $$\frac{1}{3}:\frac{1}{2}:\frac{1}{12}$$

Multiplying by L.C.M.(2,3,12)=12

= $$\frac{12}{3}:\frac{12}{2}:\frac{12}{12}$$

= $$4:6:1$$

=> Ans - (C)
