Rs. 7750 is divided among X, Y and Z such that 3 times of X’s share is equal to 5 times of Y’s share which is equal to 2 times of Z’s share. What is the share (in Rs) of Z?

Solution

Let share of X, Y and Z be Rs. $$x,y$$ and $$z$$ respectively.

Then, $$3x=5y=2z=k$$

=> $$x=\frac{k}{3}$$ , $$y=\frac{k}{5}$$ and $$z=\frac{k}{2}$$ ------------(i)

Sum = $$x+y+z=7750$$

=> $$\frac{k}{3}+\frac{k}{5}+\frac{k}{2}=7750$$

=> $$k\times(\frac{10+6+15}{30})=7750$$

=> $$k=7750\times\frac{30}{31}=7500$$

$$\therefore$$ Share of Z = $$\frac{k}{2}=\frac{7500}{2}=Rs.$$ $$3750$$

=> Ans - (B)
