Question 8

If A : B : C = 2 : 3 : 5 and C : D = 2 : 5, then what is A : D?

Solution

Given = A : B : C = 2 : 3 : 5 -------------(i)

and C : D = 2 : 5 ----------(ii)

'C' is common in both, thus we need to make it equal in both. Multiply equation (i) by 2 and equation (ii) by 5

=> $$A:B:C=4:6:10$$

and $$C:D=10:25$$

$$\therefore$$ $$A:D=4:25$$

=> Ans - (A)
