At 9% discount the selling price of a washing machine is Rs 14000, what is the selling price if the discount is 22%?

Solution

Let Marked Price of the machine = $$Rs. 100x$$

If discount is 9%, Selling price = $$\frac{100 - 9}{100} \times 100x = 91x$$

According to ques, => $$91x = 14000$$

=> $$x = \frac{14000}{91} = \frac{2000}{13}$$

If discount is 22%, selling price = $$\frac{100 - 22}{100} \times 100x = 78x$$

= $$78 \times \frac{2000}{13} = Rs. 12,000$$

=> Ans - (A)
