Question 74

The difference of simple interest on a sum of money for 8 years and 10 years is $$₹ 200.$$ If the rate of interest is 10 % p.a, then what is the sum of money?

Solution

Let the Principal amount = P

Given, rate of interest = 10%

The difference of simple interest on the sum of money for 8 years and 10 years is $$₹ 200$$

$$=$$>  $$\frac{P\times10\times10\ }{100}-\frac{P\times8\times10}{100}=200$$

$$=$$>  $$\frac{100P\ }{100}-\frac{80P}{100}=200$$

$$=$$>  $$\frac{20P\ }{100}=200$$

$$=$$>  $$P=₹ 1000$$

$$\therefore\ $$Sum of money = $$₹ 1000$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option B
