The total number of Arts students in 2011, 2013 and 2015 is what percentage less than that of Sciencein the given five years (correct to one decimal place)?

Solution

The Total science students of five years is consider as initial = 225 + 250 + 300 + 280 + 375 = 1430

The total number of Arts students consider as final = 275 + 350 + 325 = 950

we know that %decrease=$$\frac{initial-final}{initial}\times100$$

= $$\frac{1430-950}{1430}\times100$$

= $$\frac{480}{1430}$$×100

= 33.6%
