Question 68

The following bar chart shows the number of accounts (in '00) opened in a month by 5 banks.

The average money in each account of B1, B3 and B5 is ₹500. The average money in each account of B2 and B4 is ₹1,000. How much money is there in all the accounts that have been opened during the given month, in all the 5 banks, taken together?

Solution

The average money in each account of B1, B3 and B5 is ₹500.

Total number of accounts in bank B1, B3, and B5 taken together = 4000+3000+3600 = 10600

Total money in the accounts of bank B1, B3, and B5 taken together = ₹500$$\times$$10600

= ₹5300000    Eq.(i)

The average money in each account of B2 and B4 is ₹1,000.

Total number of accounts in bank B2 and B4 taken together = 4500+3200 = 7700

Total money in the accounts of bank B2 and B4 taken together = ₹1000$$\times$$7700

= ₹7700000    Eq.(ii)

Total money in all the accounts that have been opened during the given month, in all the 5 banks, taken together = Eq.(i)+Eq.(ii)

= ₹5300000+₹7700000

= ₹1,30,00000
