Question 68

If $$(3x + 1)^3 + (x - 3)^3 + (4 - 2x)^3 + 6 (3x + 1)(x - 3)(x - 2) = 0$$, then $$x$$ is equal to:

Solution

In this question we will go through option,

When we put $$\left(x=-1\right)$$ in the equation given in the question, then

$$(3x + 1)^3 + (x - 3)^3 + (4 - 2x)^3 + 6 (3x + 1)(x - 3)(x - 2) = 0$$

$$(-3 + 1)^3 + (-1- 3)^3 + (4 +2)^3 + 6 (-3 + 1)(-1 - 3)(-1 - 2) = 0$$

$$-72+216-144=0$$

$$0=0$$

Hence, x = -1.
