total age of 9 girls = $$16\times9$$ = 144
The average age of 11 boys is 26 years.
total age of 11 boys = $$26\times11$$
= 286
The average age of all these boys and girls taken together = $$\frac{144+286}{9+11}$$
= $$\frac{430}{20}$$
= 21.5 years
