Question 63

The following table shows the weight (in kg) of vegetables sold by 6 different shops. It also shows the weight (in kg) of tomatoes sold out of the total vegetables sold by each of these shops.

Taking shops S1, S2 and S5 together, approximately what percentage of all vegetables sold, from these three shops taken together, are tomatoes?

Taking shops S1, S2 and S5 together of all vegetables sold = 5000+6000+5600 = 16600

Taking shops S1, S2 and S5 together of all tomatoes sold = 1200+1000+1800 = 4000

Approximately percentage = $$\frac{4000}{16600}\times100$$

= $$\frac{4000}{166}$$

= 24.10%
