The average weight of 12 boxes is 63 kg. If four boxes having an average weight of 70 kg are removed, then what will be new average weight of the remaining boxes?
Solution
Total weight of 12 boxes = $$63\times12=756$$ kg
Weight of 4 boxes that are being removed = $$70\times4=280$$ kg
$$\therefore$$ New average = $$\frac{756-280}{8}$$
= $$\frac{476}{8}=59.5$$ kg
=> Ans - (D)
