In a class of 60 students there are 33 girls. The average weight of these girls is 62 Kg and average weight of the full class is 66.5 kg. What is the average weight of the boys of the class?
Solution
Total number of students = 60 and number of girls = 33
=> Number of boys in class = 60 - 33 = 27
Average weight of girls = 62 kg
=> Total weight of girls = $$62 \times 33 = 2046$$ kg
Similarly, total weight of full class = $$66.5 \times 60 = 3990$$ kg
=> Total weight of boys = 3990 - 2046 = 1944 kg
$$\therefore$$ Average weight of boys = $$\frac{1944}{27} = 72$$ kg
=> Ans - (A)
