An article is sold for ₹ 7650 after two successive discounts of 15% and 25%. What is the marked price of the article?
formula of successive discount =
$$d1+d2-\frac{\left(d1\times d2\right)}{100}$$= $$ 15\%+ 25\% - (15\%\times 25\%) \div 100 $$
= 36.25$$\%$$
marked price = Rs 100
discount = $$\frac{36.25}{100}\times100 $$
= 36.25
Selling price = 100- 36.25 =63.75
Given that
Selling price =7650
63.75= 7650
1= $$7650\div 63.75$$
=120
Means 1 value is 120
And we assumed above that
100 is our marked price
1= 120
100= 12000
So marked price is Rs 12000
