Question 58

If decreasing 120 by x% gives the same result as increasing 40 by x%, then x% of 210 is what percent less than (x+20)%of 180?

Solution

According to question ,

$$\frac{(100 - x)}{100} \times 120 = \frac{(100 + x)}{100} \times 40 $$

x= 50

x% of 210 = $$\frac{(50)}{100} \times 210 $$ = 105

(x+20)%of 180 = $$\frac{(70)}{100} \times 180 $$ = 126

Required answer = $$\frac{(21)}{126} \times 100 $$ = $$16\frac{2}{3}$$

So , the answer would be $$16\frac{2}{3}$$.
