The average of nine numbers is 20.
Sum of nine numbers = $$20\times9$$ = 180  Eq.(i)
If two of these numbers are removed, then the average becomes 18.
Sum of remaining seven numbers = $$18\times7$$ = 126Â Â Eq.(ii)
Sum of the two numbers that are removed =Â Eq.(i)-Eq.(ii)
=Â 180-126
= 54
