Question 55

The average of all the prime and composite numbers up to 100 is:

Solution

All prime and composite numbers below 100 mean all the numbers below 100 except 1 because 1 is neither prime nor composite.

we need to find the average of all the numbers from 2 to 100

$$\frac{\left(2+3+4+5+....100\right)}{99}$$

we can use a shortcut from arithmetic progressions as the $$\frac{\left(first\ tem+last\ term\right)}{2}$$

so $$\frac{\left(2+100\right)}{2}$$

=>$$\frac{102}{2}$$

=>51
