An inlet pipe can fill a tank in 10 hours and an outlet pipe can empty the completely filled tank in 20 hours. Both the pipes are opened at 6.30 a.m. When will the tank get filled?
Solution
Tank filled in 1 hour =Â $$\frac{1}{10}-\frac{1}{20}=\frac{10}{200}=\frac{1}{20}$$
So, the tank will be filled in 20 hours means 2.30 am next day.
