The monthly incomes of Mohit and Prakash are in the ratio 2: 3. Their monthly expenditures are in the ratio 3: 5. If each saves 5000 per month, then what is the sum of the monthly incomes of Mohit and Prakash?

Solution

profit = income- expenditure

income of Mohit and Prakash is 2x and 3x

and their expenditre is 3y and 5y

saving by ram is

2x-3y = 5000

saving by rahim is 3x - 5y = 5000

by solving both equation we get

x=2y

put x=2y in above equations we get

y = 5000

x = 10000

so 2x = $$2 \times 10000$$ = 20000 RS

3x = $$3 \times 10000$$ = 30000 RS

sum of the monthly incomes of Mohit and Prakash = 20000+30000

= 50000
