The data given below shows the marks obtained by various students.
What is the mean marks (Correct up to two decimal places) of given data?
Solution
To find the mean of the class interval , mid point of class interval of marks is obtained as shown in the table
Then product of marks and no of students is obtained
Total number of students = 30
$$\sum$$(marks $$\times no of students $$) = 66+104+75+119+76 = 440
mean = $$\frac{\sum(marks \times no. students)}{total students}$$ = $$\frac{440}{30}$$
= 14.67
