Given, total number of items = 40

Using alligation and mixture,

Ratio of number of items sold at 25% profit and 10% loss = 2 : 3

$$\therefore\ $$Number of items sold at 10% loss = $$\frac{3}{2+3}\times40$$ = 24

Hence, the correct answer is Option C
