The average of numbers N1 and N2 is 17. The average of numbers N2 and N3 is 44. What is the difference between N3 and N1?

Solution

Given, Average of N1 and N2 = 17
Then, N1 + N2 = 34 -- (1)
Average of N2 and N3 = 44
Then, N2+N3 = 88 -- (2)
Subtracting (1) from (2)
N2 + N3 - N1 - N2 = 88-34
N3 - N1 = 54.
