Question 180

Some equations are solved on the basis of a certain system. Find the correct answer for the unsolved equation on that basis.
58 × 12 = 4, 37 × 96 = 5,
11 × 20= 2, 42 × 12 =?

Solution

The number on the right is obtained by taking the square root of sum of all the digits on the left.

Eg : 58 × 12 = $$\sqrt{5+8+1+2}=\sqrt{16}=4$$

and 37 × 96 = $$\sqrt{3+7+9+6}=\sqrt{25}=5$$

and 11 × 20 = $$\sqrt{1+1+2+0}=\sqrt{4}=2$$

Similarly, 42 × 12 = $$\sqrt{4+2+1+2}=\sqrt{9}=3$$

=> Ans - (B)
