Question 139

A man invests certain amount at 6% per annum simple interest and another amount at 7% per annum simple interest. His income from the interest after 2 years was Rs. 348. The ratio of first amount to second is 4:5. Find the total amount invested.

Solution

Let  the total amount invested be 9x

So the interest for 2 years on 4x amount = $$\frac{\left(4x*2*6\right)}{100}$$

     the interest for 2 years on 4x amount = $$\frac{\left(5x*2*7\right)}{100}$$

Given , Sum of these = 348

1.18x = 348 => x$$\simeq\ $$295

So total amount invested = 2655
