A train running at the speed of 84 km/hr passes a man walking in opposite direction at the speed of 6 km/hr in 4 seconds. What is the length of train (in metre) ?
Speed of train = 84 km/hr = 84 x $$\frac{5}{18}$$ = $$\frac{70}{3}$$ m/sec
speed of man = 6 km/hr = 6 x $$\frac{5}{18}$$ = $$\frac{5}{3}$$ m/sec
As both are moving in opposite direction , relative speed = $$\frac{5}{3}$$ + $$\frac{70}{3}$$ = 25 m/sec
Time to cross the man = 4 sec
Let the length of train be L m ,then
Using, Distance = Speed x Time
L = 25 x 4 = 100 m
