In how many years, the revenue of the firm is less than the average revenue for these 8 years?
Solution
The average revenue for given 8 years = (Total revenue in all given years/ number of years)
$$\Rightarrow$$ (300 + 260 + 350 + 320 + 250 + 340 + 240 + 280) / (8)
$$\Rightarrow$$ (2340 / 8) = 239.5
Number of years in which the revenue of the firm is less the average is 4 (i.e in 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016)
Hence, option B is the correct answer.
