Solution
Selling price = Rs. 1089 and profit % = 12.5%
=> Cost price = $$\frac{1089}{(100+12.5)}\times100$$
= $$9.68\times100=Rs.$$ $$968$$
$$\therefore$$ Amount which is equal to half of the cost price of the product = $$\frac{968}{2}=Rs.$$ $$484$$
