Question 118

By selling an article for Z 450, a man loses 10%. The gain or loss per cent if he sells it for 540 is

S.P = 450

Loss % = 10%

Let C.P. = $$x$$

=> $$\frac{x-450}{x}$$ * 100 = 10

=> $$9x = 4500 => x = 500$$

Now, C.P. = 500 and S.P. = 540

=> Profit % = $$\frac{540-500}{500}$$ * 100 = 8%
