A shopkeeper earns a profit of 12% on selling a book at 10% discount on printed price. The ratio of the cost price to printed price of the book is
Let the printed price be $$100x$$ and the cost price be $$100y$$
After discount of 10%, selling price of the book = $$100x - \frac{10}{100} * 100x$$
= $$90x$$
After earning a profit of 12%, selling price = $$100y + \frac{12}{100} * 100y$$
= $$112y$$
Now, equating above equations, we get :
=> $$90x = 112y$$
=> $$\frac{y}{x} = \frac{45}{56}$$
To find : $$\frac{100y}{100x} = \frac{y}{x}$$
= 45 : 56
