JIPMAT Cutoff 2026
The JIPMAT Cutoff 2026 refers to the minimum score or percentile that must be achieved by an applicant so as to qualify for final seat allocation at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. There isn't a single cut-off for all as both participating IIMs maintain independent admission desks and release individual admission cutoffs based on their respective admission matrix.
The JIPMAT Exam pattern has 100 multiple-choice questions with a total of 400 marks.
There are three main sections in the evaluation:
- Quantitative Aptitude (QA): 33 Questions (132 Marks)
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR): 33 Questions (132 Marks)
- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC): 34 Questions (136 Marks)
The raw scorecards and their respective percentiles wll be announced by NTA on their official portal (jipmat.nta.ac.in) by late June 2026. Soon after that, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya will open their respective admission portals to release admission lists, subsequent rounds etc.
An in-depth understanding of the differences in their evaluation processes should be maintained:
IIM Jammu Cutoff System: This process relies more on the actual raw marks obtained in individual sections as well as structural weighting based on gender diversification.
IIM Bodh Gaya Cutoff System: This selection process primarily follows percentile-based sectional and overall cutoffs and publishes their respective EoI admission lists in Type I and Type II allocations.

JIPMAT Previous Year Cutoff Trends

However, since the year 2024, the NTA has changed the pattern of the paper to have a lot of tricky analytical questions, hence the final closing score was around 290-305.

Factors Affecting JIPMAT Cutoff 2026
There are various constantly changing factors that will influence the final admission number and for that reason, the cutoff cannot be calculated with much accuracy in advance. These are:
- Change in difficulty level and questions asked in specific sections: For example, if the 2026 Quant paper is inclined toward a lot of calculations, average scores might dip across the country. In such a scenario, the actual cutoff marks might drop.
- Increasing number of aspirants: The number of applications for the IPM program has been steadily increasing each year. A higher number of students trying for the limited number of seats at the institution can raise the maximum merits obtained by students.
- Fixed number of seats: For both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya, the capacity of students they admit remains almost the same, i.e. About 140 for IIM Jammu and 120 for IIM Bodh Gaya.
- Reservation rules: The selection list would strictly adhere to the Central Government's reservation norms for admission (NC-OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwD etc.) This will affect the cutoff depending on the category.
What After Clearing JIPMAT Cutoff 2026?
One major relief concerning the JIPMAT selection process in comparison to similar other MBA exams such as IPMAT Indore andCAT exams is the absence of a Personal Interview (PI) or a Written Ability Test (WAT) for final admission.
As soon as you successfully clear the given cut-off, you are offered a place, and your final admission depends entirely on the overall Composite Score (CS). The CS is calculated using the performance of the applicant in JIPMAT as well as the board marks.
Calculation of Weightage Components:
The selection criteria put great emphasis on the consistent performance of a candidate in the education process. An excellent score in JIPMAT can often be overshadowed by poor performance in board examinations and vice versa.
The weightage breakdown for the IIM Jammu IPM 2026-31 admission cycle has been given below:
Component | Weightage Percentage |
JIPMAT Score | 70% |
Class 10th Marks | 15% |
Class 12th Marks | 15% |
Next Steps Post the Exam:
IIM Bodh Gaya:
- IIM Bodh Gaya gives 100% weightage to the JIPMAT score for IPM admissions. Candidates who cross the overall and sectional cutoffs are shortlisted.
- Type I Confirmed EoI: All those placed on the merit list are offered a confirmed expression of interest for admissions.
- Type II Waitlist: Waitlisted candidates will get admission in place of dropped slots from Type I EoI.
- No Personal Interview Round: There is no PI or GD round at IIM Bodh Gaya in the same way that there is for CAT based IIM admissions. There is no stage after your JIPMAT score and no round that changes the result of the score.
- The admitted candidates must submit the necessary documents and pay the fees for the program in order to get a confirmed admission.
IIM Jammu:
- Shortlisting based on rank: Candidates whose score on individual section qualifies them are ranked based on a JIPMAT(70%) + Class X and XII marks(30%) combined score.
- The names of candidates who qualify are released, but these are in the form of admit card numbers instead of a score based merit list.
- No Personal Interview Round:There is no GD or PI round, direct selection is made from those who qualify for the IPM programme at IIM Jammu.
- Admission: Admitted candidates will have to submit their documents along with program fees for admission.
JIPMAT Cutoff 2026: Conclusion
The JIPMAT Cutoff 2026 will play an important role in deciding admission chances at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. Since both institutes follow different cutoff systems, candidates should not rely only on the overall score. They must also check category-wise expected cutoff, sectional qualifying marks, previous year cutoff trends, and the final admission criteria before estimating their chances.
Students aiming for IPM admission through JIPMAT 2026 should focus on scoring well across QA, DILR, and VARC because sectional performance can directly affect shortlisting. A strong JIPMAT score, along with good Class 10 and Class 12 marks, can improve the chances of securing admission into the five-year Integrated Programme in Management at IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya.
