JIPMAT Test Day Guide Step-By-Step:
- Be there at the reporting time or before: It is advisable to reach the test center 30-45 minutes before the stipulated time to manage travel, security checks and possible delays.
- Carry essentials only: The items that you must carry include your admit card, valid government issued photo ID and one passport sized photo. It is recommended not to carry anything else like bags, calculators, books or electronic gadgets as they will be confiscated and will most likely not be allowed inside the center.
- Complete security & biometrics: The officials will do a document verification, frisking and biometrics/photo capture before you are allowed to enter the hall.
- Gates will close sharp at the reporting time: Any applicant reaching even a few minutes late will not be allowed to enter. Gates historically have closed at 2:30 PM.
- Follow dress code: Wear light cotton clothing. Easy to slip on shoes are preferred over shoes with laces and complicated accessories. This would allow you to clear security checks in no time.
- During the exam: A total of 150 minutes will be provided to solve 100 questions. No sectional timing will be imposed on candidates to answer the questions and they can answer in any order they choose.
What Happens After the Result?
- Preparation of Merit List: NTA/IIMs will prepare a merit list based on the candidates’ scores in JIPMAT.
- No Interviews: Unlike IPMAT Indore/IPMAT Rohtak, the selection of candidates for admission in IIM Jammu based on weightage calculated with JIPMAT score, class 10 and 12 score & IIM Bodh Gaya based on JIPMAT score would be the sole criteria and there is no separate interview or written ability test.
- Counseling and Seat Allocation: Qualified candidates will be invited for a counseling process for seat allocation in IIMs based on their rank and category and availability of seats.
- Validity: The JIPMAT score card will be valid only for the current admission cycle. If you are not satisfied with your JIPMAT score, you can appear for the exam again in the next year.
