JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2027

The Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) provides a direct pathway into the 5-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered jointly by IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. As for the administrative part of conducting the computer based entrance test, NTA collaborates with IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya to chalk out the apt eligibility framework. The eligibility of the JIPMAT exam 2027 relies upon 3 pillars: required minimum percentages, range of years in passing, and passing the 10th and 12th through a recognised Board. Similar to other undergraduate programmes offered by various universities, IIM admission criteria doesn't offer a fluid choice in academic time frames.

The applicant must obtain the distinct percentile minimum in Class 10 and Class 12 to be eligible to attend the test in 2027.

This article gives information about JIPMAT eligibility criteria 2027 which also gives information about age limit criteria, educational qualification requirements, and its reservation policy.

JIPMAT Age Limit 2027

One of the most persistent questions students face revolves around the entry requirement that sets a ceiling on your biological age. Well, I'll tell you what; you can put that to rest right now, mostly.

The No Official Age limit: Neither IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu nor the National Testing Agency has a hard-set numerical upper-age limit to appear for the JIPMAT 2027 entrance examination.

So instead of having a bio-filter like your maximum age has to be 21 or 20, the committee simply checks if you followed your school board and education timings appropriately and if not, it will get screened off that way.

Your age-filter is indirectly enforced through your dates for clearing the 10th and 12th board exams and I'll outline the structure below for the 2027 admissions.

Class 10th and 12th Passed Dates Check:

To put it quite explicitly for the 2027 JIPMAT Admissions process, here is the format your timeline has to fall into.

  • Class 12 / HSC Examination Passed Dates to apply for the 2027 exam : Any student who has completed the Class 12 or HSC examinations in 2025, 2026, or will be appearing in the examination in 2027 itself.
  • Class 10 / SSC Examination Passed Dates for JIPMAT eligibility for both institutes: You should have cleared the 10th standard or SSC examination in 2023 or later years. The latest possible date will be the current year you take up the JIPMAT 2027 entrance exam itself, for either of the institutes. So, if your date for clearing Class 10 is in 2022 or earlier, it means you will unfortunately be deemed ineligible as per the stringent guidelines.

JIPMAT Educational Qualification Requirements 2027

To successfully pass JIPMAT and get admission into your desired IIM, it's imperative that you align with the below-mentioned educational qualification benchmarks which consist of not only your aggregate marks but also the structure of your education itself.

1. Minimum Percentage Required:

The overall aggregate of your marks in the Class 10(SSC) and Class 12(HSC) examinations play a crucial role in qualifying for the JIPMAT 2027 admission process, depending on your categories.

  • For candidates belonging to General, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories: you must have secured at least 60% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 exams or equivalent.
  • For SC, ST, PwD: you need to have attained a minimum of 55% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations.

Note : If the board you belong to does not have an aggregate calculation system for passing the examination or there is a separate method of passing prescribed, the total marks scored across all the subjects mentioned on your mark sheet will be the criteria.

2. Stream & Board Compatibility:

Open to all streams: There are no subject-specific constraints, nor do we need you to take any extra mathematics classes before appearing for JIPMAT. All streams of Arts, Commerce, and Science are equally eligible to take up this examination.

Recognised boards: Furthermore, whether you come from the CBSE, ICSE or any of the many State Boards of Education across the country, you're eligible for application.

International & Open Schooling: Even students pursuing their education from international boards like IB and IGCSE, as well as students of Open Schooling boards like NIOS, or any of the State Open Schooling boards (with a minimum of 5 subjects completed, including English as a core subject) can sit for this competitive examination.

Who can apply for JIPMAT 2027?

The following candidates can and should consider applying for JIPMAT 2027 to get into your desired IIM.
