Programs and Exam Centers: Select the programs offered by IIMs you wish to apply for. Also, select six preferred test cities where you would like to take the exam. The exam centre will be assigned based on availability. It does not matter if you fill sooner or latter, the centre selection is randomized in nature and will not begin unless all participants have registered.
Step 1 - Registration
Go to IIMs official website, (https://iimcat.ac.in/) also linked here. Some candidates might have already done this. Based on your situation, click on the button.
Following your choice, you will be redirected to a page. Incase you wish to perform a new registration, follow the guides and fill in your information.

Step 3 - Academics
Make sure that you fill every single information correctly. Make sure there is no discrepancy between the official information given in the document and the information you are filling in the form.
Step 4 - Work Experience
Naturally an optional section, work experience can fetch you extra points incase it is in the perfect range. In this section, you may feel confused about the industry that you are part of. Unless you have no idea, do not mark the 'others' option.
The work experience start date that you will mention in the form MUST be the same as the date in your official joining letter. Incase any discrepancy is present, solving it might be an issue.
Step 5 - Course Selection
In this area, like 95% of the participants, do not bother with selecting the options. Just click on the "Select All" button (it is there for a reason) and move on. This will not have any impact on your interview, you will not be asked questions on the same.
Step 6 - Test City Selection
A VERY important section. Do not make any mistakes here. Ensure you are 100% sure about the city you are filling. There are a total of 6 options in the form. Do not randomly fill this section.
There is a very high chance that you will not be assigned the centre of your choice, it is always better to be prepared.
CAT Application - Additional Information
Before filling the form, try to read the CAT manual and be sure of everything. There is also an affidavit section present on the home page that you can access.
Incase you need any form of special assistance, incase you are a final year student etc - you need to get the affidavit signed by the respective authorities. It is advisable that one must go through all the forms available to see if they need to fill any.
The CAT application form is now live and available on the official website. "iimcat.ac.in" - one can go to the website, register, verify and proceed to fill the application form.
If you wish to write the CAT exam, there is the one precondition of filling up the form for the exam. After you have filled the form(Correctly) and paid the registration fee, you are eligible to write the examination.
The marks to be entered in the CAT form must be in aggregate. The selection committee does not care about the best of 4 or the best of 5 - you have to enter the total marks you have attained and divided it by the maximum possible marks.
When the correction window opens, you can edit certain things in the application form. Your photograph or signature is not one of them.
The issue can be significant so we always ask students to be double sure of what they fill in. When the correction window opens, make sure you correct your mistake as it can become a problem later. This is primarily because the marks you have obtained can affect the composite score that you will receive.
