At 15% discount the selling price of a microwave oven is Rs 34000, what is the selling price if the discount is 37.5%?

Solution

Let Marked Price of the oven = $$Rs. 100x$$

If discount is 15%, Selling price = $$\frac{100 - 15}{100} \times 100x = 85x$$

According to ques, => $$85x = 34000$$

=> $$x = \frac{34000}{85} = 400$$

If discount is 37.5%, selling price = $$\frac{100 - 37.5}{100} \times 100x = 62.5x$$

= $$62.5 \times 400 = Rs. 25,000$$

=> Ans - (A)
