Question 82

An angle is greater than its complementary by 20°. What will be the measure of the angle?

Solution

Let the angle = $$\theta$$

Its complementary angle = $$(\theta + 20$$°$$)$$

Sum of an angle and its complementary angle = 90°

=> $$\theta + (\theta + 20$$°$$) = 90$$°

=> $$2 \theta = 90$$°$$ - 20$$°$$ = 70$$°

=> $$\theta = \frac{70}{2} = 35$$°

$$\therefore$$ Measure of the angle = $$35 + 20 = 55$$°

=> Ans - (A)
