Question 82

A shopkeeper by selling 5 items, earns a profit equal to the selling price of 1 item. What is his profit percentage?

Solution

Let SP of 1 item = 10/-

SP of 5 items = 50/-

profit = SP of 1 item = 10/-

CP = SP-profit = 50-10 = 40/-

profit% = $$\frac{profit}{CP} \times 100 = \frac{10}{40} \times 100 = 25$$%

So the answer is option B.
