The average marks of 18 students in an examination was 60. It was later found that the marks of one student had been wrongly entered as 63 instead of 36. The correct average is:
Average = Total Marks /Number of students
Now total marks of students will be :18(60) =1080
Now marks of one student had been wrongly entered as 63 instead of 36
so we can say the new sum will be 1080-63+36 = 1053
Therefore new average will be : 1053/18 =58.5
