A circle and a rectangle have the same perimeter. The sides of the rectangle are 18 cm and 26 cm. What is the area of the circle ?

Solution

The circumference of the circle = Circumference of the rectangle
= 2(18+26) = 88
Now, 2*(22/7)*r = 88
r = 14
Area of circle = (22/7)*14*14 = 616 cm^2
Therefore, the correct option is option C.
