If 2 shirts are offered free on purchase of 3 shirts priced Rs 600 each, then what will be the effective discount on each shirt?

Solution

Cost price of 1 shirt = Rs. 600

Cost price of 5 shirts = $$5 \times 600 = Rs. 3,000$$

If 2 shirts are offered free on purchase of 3 shirts, => Cost of 3 shirts = $$3 \times 600 = Rs. 1,800$$

=> Effective discount = $$\frac{3000 - 1800}{3000} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{1200}{30} = 40\%$$

=> Ans - (C)
