Let marked price = Rs. $$100x$$
Selling price after first discount of 20% = $$100x-(\frac{20}{100}\times100x)$$
=Â $$100x-20x=Rs.$$ $$80x$$
Similarly, selling price after second discount of 25% = $$80x-(\frac{25}{100}\times80x)$$
=Â $$80x-20x=Rs.$$ $$60x$$
According to ques, => $$60x=4200$$
=> $$x=\frac{4200}{60}=70$$
$$\therefore$$ Marked price = $$100\times70=Rs.$$ $$7,000$$
