The length of a rectangular park is 20 m more than its breadth. If the cost of fencing the park at ₹53 per metre is ₹21200, then what is the area (in m$$^2$$) of the park ?

Solution

the cost of fencing the park at ₹53 per metre is ₹21200

therefore perimeter = 21200/53 = 400

Length= 20 + x ,breadth = x

By the problem,

$$2*(20 + x + x)$$ = 400,

20 + 2x = 200

2x = 180

x = 90

Length = 110

Hence Area 110 *90= 9900
