Question 72

Rahul’s salary is 40% less than Rakesh’s salary. Deepak’s salary is 80% more than Rahul’s salary. If Deepak’s salary is ₹ 34560, then what is the salary of Rakesh?

Solution

given that rahul salary is 40% less than rakesh salary

i.e; rahul salary=$$\frac{60}{100}$$(rakesh salary)

rahul salary=0.6(rakesh salary)---(1)

given that deepak salary is 80% more than rahul salary

i.e; deepak salary=$$\frac{180}{100}$$(rahul salary)----(2)

given ,deepak salary =34560

we need to find salary of rakesh

from equation 1 and 2

34560 = (1.8)(0.6)(rakesh salary )

so rakesh salary = $$\frac{34560}{\left(1.8\times0.6\right)}$$

=>32000
