The sum of the salaries of A and B together is ₹45000. A spends 85% ofhis salary and B, 70% ofhis salary. If now their savings are the same, what is B’s salary (in ₹)?
Solution
given sum of the salaries of A and B is 45000
A spends 85% of his salary ,that means 15% is saved
B spends 70% of his salary ,that means 30%is saved
given that savings of both A and B is same
so 15% of A = 30% of B
We get $$\frac{A}{B}=\frac{2}{1}$$
but A+B=45000
2B+B=45000
3B=45000
B=15000
Hence answer is option C
