If the total expenditure of the family during that period was ₹2,00,000, then find the amount spent on medical expenses.

Solution

If the total expenditure of the family during that period was ₹2,00,000.

total expenditure of the family during that period = (20+25+40+15)% = ₹2,00,000.

100% = ₹2,00,000

1% = ₹2000

Amount spent on medical expenses = 20% = $$20\times2000$$

= ₹40000
