The efficiencies of A, B and C are in the ratio 2 : 5 : 3. Working together, they can compete a task in 9 days. In how many days will C alone complete 40% ofthat task?

Solution

let the efficiencies  of A , B and C are $$2x,5x$$ and $$3x$$  respectively.

   Total work done by A, B and C in 9 days = (2x + 5x + 3x)x 9 = 90x Units. 

 40% of total work = $$\frac{90x\times40}{100}$$

  C alone can do 40% of total work in $$\frac{90x\times40}{100\times3x}$$ = 12days.
